Mr. Staus received a Bachelor
of Science (Geology) degree from Lakehead University in
1985 and has 27 years of oil and gas industry experience.
Currently Mr. Staus is a founder, Chairman and CEO of Carrick
Petroleum Inc. Carrick is a private oil and gas company
incorporated in the Province of Alberta on August 3rd, 2011
and is focused in the Alberta foothills. Mr. Staus founded
Culane Energy Corp. (TSX-V) and served as President, Chief
Executive Officer and a director of Culane from its commencement
of operations in 2002 until its sale to Barrick Energy in
Mr. Staus was President, Chief
Executive Officer and Chairman of Canoro Resources Ltd.
(TSX-V), an international oil and gas company that Mr. Staus
acquired as a failed gold mining company, recapitalized
and re-focused on foothills oil and gas projects in India
from 1996 to 2001. As President of Canoro Mr. Staus succeeded
in negotiating two Production Sharing Contracts with the
Government of India, securing a 480,000 acre exploration
block and a much sought after oil and gas development block
in Assam State N.E. India. From 1994 to 1996, Mr. Staus
worked as a VP of Exploration for a private oil and gas
company focused in the Alberta foothills.
From 1991 to 1994 he worked
as a geological consultant for numerous public and private
oil and gas companies operating in Alberta. From 1989 to
1991 Mr. Staus worked as a staff geologist for Union Gas
Limited in Chatham Ontario developing Silurian reef complexes
for natural gas storage. Previous to 1989 Mr. Staus worked
as an independent geological well site consultant for numerous
oil and gas companies throughout Alberta.
Staus is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers
and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
